FOUR (4) ARMED ROBBERS NABBED IN OGUN STATE

Four members of a notorious armed robbers have been arrested by Ogun State Police Command on Sunday.

The suspects: Sukanmi Tajudeen, Habeeb Oladimeji, Sunday Akintunde, and Ishola Samson were reported to have been terrorising the Mowe/Ofada areas in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.




The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.



The Police Spokesperson said the suspects had been on the wanted list of the police command before their eventual arrest in their hideouts at Adesan area of Mowe.



Oyeyemi said, the suspects were arrested following a report received by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. However the officer-in-charge of SARS, Csp Tijani Muhammed, dispatched his operatives to the area and the hideout was professionally cordoned off for an operation which lasted for about an hour.



He further disclosed that the four suspects were apprehended while some members of the gang escaped through the near-by bush.



The PPRO added that some items were recovered from the suspects during the operation including one locally made triplet barrel pistol, one locally made single barrel pistol, thirteen live cartridges, and one Bajaj motorcycle.




"A manhunt is ongoing for the fleeing members of the gang and other armed bandits in the state."
