#ENDSARS vs #COVID-19

WHAT IS COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a communicable respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus that causes illness in humans. The deadly disease was first reported in China, but it has now spread throughout the world.

Few months back, the entire world was in total lockdown inother to prevent the spread of the disease. It can be contacted when one shakes hands with those who are already struggling with the infection (even if they are NOT aware its already in them), or they cough without covering up. Etc

The entire world can be affected by just one person. The disease made a lot of activities to be on hold worldwide, no gathering in the market, Churches, Mosques, Clubs, Eateries, etc.

After a while, things changed a little. People started going out, although there is limit to what they can do. There are rules guiding the movement of people. Each Country, State have their rules.

HOW TO PREVENT COVID-19
The infection can be prevented by observing personal hygiene practices, which are

1. Regular Hand Washing with soap
2. Stay home if necessary
3. Observe social distancing
4. Cover your cough. Etc.

WHAT IS END SARS?

SARS Means Special Anti-Robbery Squad, END SARS is simply a protest by Nigerians for government to put an end to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Nigeria

#EndSARS is a social movement in Nigeria that started on Twitter, calling for banning of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigerian Police Force, a controversial division known for police oppression and brutality.

The protests started as a social media campaign using the hashtag #ENDSARS to demand for the Nigerian Government to end the deployment of SARS.

From the social media, now to the street. It is getting STRONGER on a daily basis and has made a lot of people to stay home, because the roads are blocked.

This protest is currently ongoing in almost all the states of Nigeria.

#COVID-19  vs  #ENDSARS

Despite the fact that people are fully aware of the world COVID-19 pandemic, #ENDSARS has made them neglect COVID-19's precautions.

No more social distancing, because they walk, run, and stay together in the protest. No using of face mask because of #ENDSARS protest all over Nigeria. You will hardly see people using the face mask.

Nevertheless, we still get daily update of COVID-19 confirmed cases. For Sunday 18th of October, 2020.

Lagos State taking the lead with 90 cases.

As at 18th of October 2020, there are 61,440 cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria,
